Test Format:

The TOEFL test consists of 4 sections:

The test takes approximately 4 hours to complete.

General Information: The TOEFL exam is available in Israel as an Internet Based Test (iBT) and in the Paper Based Test format (PBT). It is possible to take the TOEFL iBT in Jerusalem at the Hebrew University Givat Ram campus, and in various locations in Tel Aviv and the surrounding area.


You may register for the TOEFL test in Israel online at www.toefl.org.

The cost of the TOEFL iBT test is $150. You may register to take the TOEFL iBT test up to one week before the test date. The TOEFL iBT test results are available approximately two weeks after the test is taken. The TOEFL test scores are emailed to the test taker and to the Universities the test taker chooses (first 4 Universities chosen to receive TOEFL test scores are free).


In Israel it is also possible to take the Paper Based TOEFL test (PBT) at the Anglican School in West Jerusalem. The Paper Based TOEFL exam does NOT contain a speaking portion, and some universities may require TOEFL test takers to also submit scores for the Test of Spoken English (TSE).

80-99: admission probable (graduate)
61-80: admission probable (undergraduate)
43-60: individual cases reviewed
